“For Anyone Who Doesn’t Believe #Huawei Will get You Thoroughly Hacked By The Chinese Government...Just Read This”

This morning, Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin set the record straight on Huawei with a tweet confirming that the American is right to be concerned about a potential Huawei infiltration of United States networks:

The national security threat is brought into specific urgent relief by the proposed Sprint T-Mobile merger. Both T-Mobile and Sprint refuse to make anything other than vague pledges — far from specific, enforceable commitments — that they will not use Huawei components in building their planned 5G infrastructure. What’s more, T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom, has a troubling history with the Chinese company known for cyber espionage and is using Huawei technology to build out 5G around the world. If Deutsche Telekom continues to back Huawei, there may not be safe alternatives for wireless technology in the future.

Rogin’s tweet links to a piece from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute's publication called The Strategist: “The African Union headquarters hack and Australia’s 5G network.”
