Former State Department Chief of Staff David Wade and Scott Mulhauser, former Chief of Staff at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, became the latest voices to call on the two network operators to provide legal assurances to the federal government that, if allowed to merge, they will not use Huawei technology while deploying 5G. As of now, no such assurances exist, meaning that with a Sprint and T-Mobile merger, national security could be undermined as Americans far and wide could be exposed to spying and hacking.
